The Free HuMAN Academy is a secular humanist, tuition-free, online education provider that teaches 36 courses via videos, text, infographics, and research assignments. Our classes are designed for African humanists, but we encourage world-wide enrollment. We offer 7 classes in Community Health, 20 classes in Micro-Enterprises, and 9 classes in Ethics & Society.

We will award $33,600 between October 2025 and December 2026.

In October, November, and December 2025 we will hand out 12 grants of $100 each to the most dedicated students. In 2026, the grants might increase in value. Students can receive the grants multiple times. All students get their essays posted. You can read about Eligibility and Preferences HERE.

Our goal is to create a merit-based, ever-growing network of humanist leaders rooted in community action.

The Free HuMAN Academy is a project initiated by Humanist Mutual Aid Network (HuMAN), a USA nonprofit that’s worked for 12 years in 25 African nations, and 52 nations worldwide. In Africa, HuMAN has launched humanist orphanages in Liberia, Kenya, Uganda, and Niger Republic; safe houses for LGBTQ+ and victims of gender-based violence in Benin Republic, Uganda, and Nigeria; humanist schools in Uganda and Nigeria; internet cafes in Ghana and Nigeria, and hundreds of other projects.
